How To Access E-Resources From Off-Campus: Remote Access

Electronic Journal Usage Terms and Restrictions

When using electronic resources, please comply with the Copyright Act and the contractual terms and conditions of each electronic resource. Except as permitted by the Copyright Act, unauthorized duplication, public transmission, adaptation, or reprinting of copyrighted works, in whole or in part, is prohibited. Please check the terms and conditions for each electronic resource on the provider's website. Generally, the following items are stipulated in contracts and terms of use. Please note that unauthorized use may result in the electronic resource being unavailable university-wide.

  1. Users are limited to faculty, staff, students, part-time faculty and staff, and collaborative researchers affiliated with Yokohama National University.
  2. Use is for the user's own research and educational purposes.
  3. Use is for the user's own research and educational purposes. Excessive downloading of entire volumes or a certain number of items is prohibited. (Downloads occur even when only viewing.)

  5. Please refrain from using electronic resource content for training or learning generative AI, as some publishers have contractual restrictions. Also, please note that uploading content to cloud-based services, such as generative AI and machine translation services, may result in its use for training generative AI without permission, which may constitute a breach of contract or copyright infringement.

Symbol Meanings

Academic Search Premier is a database of papers covering a wide range of fields, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and medicine (it also includes some books and newspapers). There are approximately 8,500 magazines with indexes and abstracts and approximately 4,600 magazines with full text (3,900 of which are peer-reviewed), totaling approximately 18 million data entries. PDF full-text is available for approximately 100 important magazines, from their first issues or from around 1975. There are also links to cited and cited references, as well as a search function. Asahi Shimbun Cross-Search is a database of full-text articles from the Asahi Shimbun. Articles from 1985 onwards are available as text and clipping images, and abridged versions from 1879 to 1999 are available as page images. Other available articles include "AERA" from 1988 onwards, "Weekly Asahi" and "Chiezo" from 2000 onwards, English news, a people database, Asahi Graph from 1923 to 1956, and a historical photo archive. There is no subscription for national regional pages or pre-war overseas editions. The number of simultaneous accesses is 1.

CAS SciFinder is the online version of Chemical Abstracts, a literature database in the field of chemistry (coverage range: 1900 to present). Starting in April 2024, you will be able to use the CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform for Academics, which will enable you to use CAS Formulas, CAS Analytical Methods, CAS Bioactivity Data, and ChemZent in addition to the traditional CAS SciFinder. You will also be able to continue using the username and password you registered for CAS SciFinder before March 2024.

House of Commons Parliamentary Papers is a searchable database of British Parliamentary documents from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The 18th-century database contains minutes of parliamentary sessions from the Glorious Revolution of 1688 to the burning of Westminster Abbey in 1834, as well as journals from both Houses of Parliament. The 19th-century (1801-1900) and 20th-century (1901-2004) databases contain documents from the House of Commons.

    Yomidas allows you to search and view articles from the Yomiuri Shimbun. You can use the "Heisei/Reiwa (1986-)," "The Japan News (1989-)," and "Gendai Jinmei-ro" (Contemporary People's Directory). The "Heisei/Reiwa (1986-)" database includes the article text, and articles from December 2008 onward include a "press clipping." The Gendai Jinmei-roku allows you to search for profiles of 26,000 key figures from Japan and abroad today (including some deceased individuals) with a single click. The number of simultaneous accesses is 1.

    Users may print out the following items per authenticated terminal:
