Online Databases

*YNU is contractually obligated to limit access to Online Databases to current YNU students, faculty, staff, and researchers who hold YNU Login IDs.

Remote Access

GakuNin

Some online databases provide shibboleth certification named GakuNin. To check the availability and access way, please see the comment of each databases labeled "GakuNin". You need your YNU Login ID.

YNU VPN faculty and staff only (excluding part-time teachers)

For providers that cannot be connected via GakuNin, you may be able to use the service by connecting to a VPN from the "YNU VPN Service." However, some electronic resources have unstable VPN connections. VPN connections to PCs shared by multiple people (including loaned PCs) are prohibited. The maximum number of simultaneous users is 500 for faculty and staff and 500 for students, with the maximum connection time per computer being 1 hour.

Asahi Shimbun Cross-Search(朝日新聞クロスサーチ)　

【Research tool】Asahi Shimbun Cross Search is a full-text article database for Asahi Shimbun. Articles from 1985 onwards are recorded as text and clipping images, and reduced-sized printed versions from 1879 to 1999 are recorded as page images. Other available articles include "AERA" from 1988 onwards, "Weekly Asahi" and "Chiezo" from 2000 onwards, English news, a people database, Asahi Graph 1923-1956, and a historical photo archive. There is no subscription for domestic regional pages or pre-war overseas editions. The number of simultaneous accesses is limited to 1.

Yomidas(ヨミダス)　

【Research tool】 Yomidas is the full-text database of the Yomiuri Shimbun. We YNU member access available the "Heisei & Reiwa Eras section" (Coverage: 1986-present), "The Japan News" (Coverage: 1989-present) and "Contemporary Who's Who." Japanese-language articles from the Yomiuri Shimbun are supplemented by English-language articles from the Daily Yomiuri (1989-present). An image file and biographical sketches (Who's Who in Japan) of nearly 26,000 contemporary individuals are included in the database.The number of simultaneous accesses is limited to 1.
