Open Access Publishing supported by Transformative Agreements

オープンアクセスとは、学術論文等がインターネット上で公開され、無料での利用が可能になっている状態を指します。誰にでも論文を読んでもらうことができることで、論文が引用される可能性が高くなるなど、著者にとってもメリットがあります。オープンアクセスの実現手段として以下の2種類があります。
Open access refers to the state in which academic papers and other scholarly works are made available on the internet for free, allowing unrestricted access. This enables anyone to read the papers, increasing the likelihood of citations and providing benefits to authors. There are two main methods for achieving open access:

グリーン・オープン・アクセス Green Open Access

機関リポジトリ等で、出版社版または著者最終稿を無料で公開する方法です。公開にあたって出版社の著作権ポリシーにより、著者最終稿・公開禁止期間（embargo）が多くあります。 This method involves making the publisher’s version or the author’s final manuscript freely available through institutional repositories. However, due to publishers’ copyright policies, many papers are subject to embargo periods or restrictions on sharing the author’s final manuscript. 横浜国立大学 学術情報リポジトリ YNU Repository 他機関における機関リポジトリ Institutional repositories of other institutions 機関リポジトリのほかに、分野リポジトリ、プレプリントサーバ（PubMedCentral，arXiv，bioRxiv，Jxivなど）などが近年増加しており、そちらから公開する方法もあります。 In addition to institutional repositories, subject-based repositories and preprint servers, such as PubMed Central, arXiv, bioRxiv, and Jxiv, have been increasing in number in recent years, providing alternative ways to share research outputs.

ゴールド・オープン・アクセス Gold Open Access

学術雑誌自体をオープンアクセス出版する方法です。著者がAPC（オープンアクセス論文掲載料）を支払うことによってオープンアクセスジャーナルを出版するというモデルが主流となっています。 This method involves publishing the academic journal itself as an open-access journal. The predominant model requires authors to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to make their papers openly accessible. 横浜国立大学APC（オープンアクセス論文掲載料）著者一部負担制度は、ゴールド・オープン・アクセスを支援する制度です。 The Yokohama National University APC (Article Processing Charge) Partial Support Program is a system that supports Gold Open Access publishing.

横浜国立大学APC（オープンアクセス論文掲載料）著者一部負担制度は、大学と出版社が締結するRead and Publish契約（転換契約）の契約金額の一部を著者負担金として論文著者に負担いただき、論文のOA出版を行う制度です。
The YNU open access article processing charge (APC) author co-payment program is a program that helps authors to make OA publishing of their articles by paying the portion of the contract amount for Read and Publish agreements (transformative agreements) entered into by the University.

論文著者は通常のAPC定価より安い価格でオープンアクセス出版を行うことができます。なお、APC定価が本制度の著者負担金額より安い場合は制度の適用対象外となります。

論文著者が契約金額の一部を負担することで、全学共通経費で負担する購読料が低く抑えられ、電子ジャーナルの価格高騰への対応の一助となることが期待されています。

Authors have a chance to make OA publishing of their articles at a lower cost than APC listed prices. (This program does not apply to cases where an APC listed price is lower than the amount payable by an author under the program.)

If article authors cover part of such costs, it helps the University reduce subscription fees paid from the university-wide budget, helping to cope with the rising costs of electronic journals.
